Our traveling is a perfect balance of fastidious planning and frivolity. Janet sweats over the details while I schmooze through the trip slouching my way from one attraction to another looking for a chance to slake my thirst with an adult beverage. I may seem like a slacker when it comes to traveling, but I know better. Without Janet's sweating over details, our serendipity can quickly devolve to
zemblanity and unforeseen travails will befall us.
You see, Janet’s
attention to detail(s) saves us from “bad” trips and by my staying out of the
way ensures our success.
So, while I gad about trying
to defeat levels of Candy Crush, Janet is practicing her Spanish for our
upcoming trip to Seville and Andalusia in late August. She’s made up an itinerary
that includes a Tour of the Royal Alcazar Castle (which we evidently will see
out our AIrBnB window), a Flamenco show (tickets already purchased), day trips planned
to Ronda and Arcos, a Tapas tour (still working on it) and a cooking class (ditto).
To all this planning I
say I hope there’s sangria involved.
MORE?
In December we’re off
to Sandals in Barbados and through Janet’s research she has us getting in a few
days earlier just so we can attend the Ostin Fish Fry held on Friday nights.
Evidently, it’s a thing to do in Barbados with music and crafts available as
well as fresh sea food. Sounds reminiscent of Uncle Robert's Awa Bar and Farmer's Market on the Big Island...that was a lot of fun.
She also has us booked
on a tour of Barbados with Sanjay a highly recommended tour guide who has given
us a laundry list of things we might want to see on the island. As always, she pours
over the reviews for everything and always makes great decisions.
To all this planning I just
hope I can get another rum.
Yeah, I stay out of her
way, and she makes our trips happen!
Thankfully she likes to do all this
detailed work!
WAIT THERE’S MORE?
In between tongue-lashing
me in Spanish and planning a trip to the pink sand of Crane’s Beach on
Barbados, she is also looking into a Florida Keys rental sometime in February.
It never stops with Janet.
It can drive a man to drink!
Love Janet and greg
